My name is Jennie and I'm an interior decorator in Ocala.  I was born and raised here, moved away for college, and then somehow made my way back twenty years later. I love the simplicity of our quaint town and all of the community traditions that go along with living in Ocala.

My career as a decorator has evolved over time. I started out in the field of human resources with Lowe's Home Improvement for over 13 years.  Soon after my "retirement" and attempt at being a stay-at-home mom full-time, my sister and I started an online monogram gift boutique that continues to thrive today, 6 years later (check it out - www.twochicgiftinggals.com)!

Once that business took-off, I still felt the urge to do more.  So, because I live, eat, and breathe breath-taking decor, I finally decided to put my passion to work, thus J. Holland Interiors was born.  I have a wonderful and supportive husband along with three children who keep me very busy and constantly entertained.  Between lunchbox-making and the hassle of homework, I love to talk, read, and dream about interiors.

My business goal is to make high-end interiors accessible to those on any budget.  Because of my background, I'm not a conventional decorator.  I don't necessarily believe in strictly following the standard decorating "rules."  I think every great space should be unique and reflect the personality, interests, and lifestyle of those who live there.  It should also be comfortable, beautiful, and bring the homeowners joy every time they walk through the door.  With as little or as much input that each client wants to offer, while sharing some laughs along the way, we'll create a space that you'll be proud to share with your family and friends for years to come.

I intend to use this blog to share my adventures in decorating my clients' homes as well as my own. I feel it's important for people to get to know me and what better way to do that than to exploit myself! I'll start this new chapter in my life by showing my readers what's been going on in my house since we bought it about 18 months ago; unfortunately it's STILL not finished but we've certainly made some good headway that I'm proud to call my first major decorating design. It's been a labor of love (and a true test of my patience which has been worn quite thin at times!).

Please join me on my exciting journey. I'm thankful for where I've been and for what's to come.
